The blades are produced with ultra-hard, high-carbon steel which means they remain razor sharp and because they are held in place by a screw, they don't move. Blades are also curved, not flat, which acts like a spring and holds the pencils tight whilst sharpening. The ‘metal’ sharpener bodies are made from magnesium, which allows pencils to be held and the leads to be shaped correctly. Even the ‘plastic’ sharpeners are made with the same precision and quality.
